Official Macao Health Code

The new Tourism Law prohibits smoking inside all hotels in Macao. All guests in all hotels and commercialised resorts will need to wear nicotine-dispensing masks, undergo heat checks and give a special Macao Health Code upon request. All resorts and hotels have strict prohibitions against smoking, as it is considered a dangerous "recreational addiction". The move, aimed at curbing the island's increasing rate of smoking, has caused several airlines to stop air travel to Macau. However, other international carriers have remained resolute to let go their flights to the tiny region.

The new Tourism Law prohibits smoking inside all hotels in Macao. All guests staying in hotels and commercialised resorts must wear nicotine-dispensing smocks, be subject to heat checks, and sign a Macao Health Code. Smoking is deemed to be a dangerous 'recreational habit' and is strictly prohibited within all resorts and hotels. The move, aimed at curbing the island's increasing rate of smoking, has caused several airlines to stop air travel to Macau. Other international carriers, however, have not given up on their flights to the small region.

The new law on smoking in Macao was released on Hong Kong day as the region is due to host the world's annual World AIDS conference from Hong Kong this month. Many delegates are expected to be affected by the new tobacco control policy implemented in Macao. The Ministry of Health of Macao states that nearly 30% of Hong Kong residents are ex-smokers. The new Macao health code is also supposed to reduce the transmission of the deadly Hong Kong pandemic to Macauans.

The Ministry of Health in Macao, together with the International Federation of Associations of Hospitals and Environmental Health Experts (IFAE) and International Association of Lung Societies (IALOSE) held a meeting on the issue of smoking in Macao to discuss measures against the spread of the deadly virus. The new MACao health code, which prohibits smoking in commercial establishments, was presented by the Ministry of Health. Additionally, smoking is strictly prohibited in the beaches and in any place that has access to the beach. Any form of sales or advertising including smoking is strictly prohibited. The code also states that all resorts, hotels, clubs, and other similar institutions that stay in close proximity to the sea are expected to strictly observe the new policy.

On July 14th, the government departments met again to discuss and further develop the macao health code system. During this meeting, the leaders of government departments expressed their intent to strengthen the implementation of the new Macao health code system. The delegates from the different departments also reviewed and discussed the details of the new MACao health code system and discussed the possibility of how the government departments and the MACao Mission could work together in order to strengthen the entire system. During the meeting, the mission stated that they have been working closely with the government departments to implement the system and hoped that the governments would work in close cooperation with the mission in the future.

It is important to note that all commercial establishments in Macao are required to observe the new macao health code. These establishments are required to inform the Department of Health immediately if they fail to comply with the new measures. In addition to that, the establishments that fail to comply with the novel coronavirus surveillance requirements will soon be required to upgrade their equipment, which includes quilting machines and microchip systems. These upgrades will ensure that all establishments are adhering to the Macao Ministry of Health's new novel pandemic prevention measures.

Many hotels, guest houses, or other establishments were denied admission to the Macao Health Code. The reasons for these refusal hearings included things like having unlicensed businessmen on board, having unlicensed medical staff on board, and failure to submit records that support the claim of having unlicensed medical staff on board. The Macao Health Code has been updated by the Ministry of Health to reflect the new Macao Laws. As a result, all establishments that were previously refused admission are now allowed to apply once again, as long as the conditions and procedures are strictly followed.
